Upcoming North East Show!!! - NE Volume Birthday Show 2017!

To celebrate their second birthday, NE Volume Magazine is having putting on a gig at the Arc in Stockton on Tees, Teesside on 9th September!  It is £14 to get in and will start at 4pm.  The acts that are playing the show are as follows:

Frankie & The Heartstrings

Formed in 2008, Frankie & The Heartstrings have been producing anthemic indie anthems, playing many of the major festivals in the UK, opened their own record shop (Pop Recs in Sunderland - I thoroughly recommend you popping in, it is a great shop), released three albums and have won people over with effortless charm!

The Lake Poets

AKA Martin Longstaff from Sunderland has been crushing audiences with his heart-breaking songs that bring to hold a quite dignity, passionate depths to move the soul and a story telling tradition that is unique to the North East of England.  Once you have heard his songs, you will be forever wanting to hear more of his work.

Boy Jumps Ship

One of our favourite pop punk bands of the moment!  Boy Jumps Ship are from Newcastle upon Tyne and deal in anthemic punk, with a hint of nostalgia and more hooks than one band really should be legally allowed to have.  Their last album 'Wake Up' is one of our favourite records and they will bring the house down on this show.

Glass Caves

From Pontefract in West Yorkshire, Glass Caves started off life as a busker’s outfit on the street of York.  They have since moved onto the national circuit and they deal in an alternative/indie rock which has hints of Tame Impala, Local Natives and The Virginmarys.  They could be the surprise package of the show.

Abel Raise the Cain

Six-piece experimental indie rockers Abel Raise the Cain cannot be accused of being unambitious!  They have massive goals, their new album 'For Strangers Only' is testament to this and they have a huge sound that deserves to be heard.

Talk Like Tigers

Twins Charlotte and Stephanie (AKA Talk Like Tigers) have been making waves with their debut EP 'Talk Like Tigers', bring a sense of attitude, glamour and above all - entertainment. Their unique blend of dream pop is insanely catchy and you would be a fool to miss them.

Velvoir are a band that need to be experienced live, taking your concepts of genre, love and self and throwing them to the ground, tearing them apart and leaving you to deal with the task of getting everything back together again.  They have a Cramps like ability for sending shivers down the spine and they will open the show with an attitude that will be hard to match.

It should be a fantastic evening with seven of the best acts in the North East of England bring seven very different styles to the table and tickets are available now.  As I noted at the beginning of this piece a ticket will cost £14 and they are available at arconline.co.uk, by calling ARC Box Office on 01642 525190, by heading to ARC at Dovecot Street, Stockton or by heading to Pop Recs at Grange Terrace, Sunderland.
