To quote the genius that is Scroobius Pip - Welcome,
welcome, welcome.... after a day of rest, it is time to get starting on our
annual Album of the Year poll for 2016. It has been a lot of albums
reviewed, so before I start on the formalities of how the voting works, I would
like to firstly say a huge thank you to all of the team. Helen, Jerm,
Luke, Andy & Marc – You guys are paid as much as me (sweet FA), we do it
for love (in some cases, bribery) and the help you give me and the blog is
priceless. So, once again I thank you all, it will be starting all over
again soon and sadly we are still not getting a raise.
So, how many albums are eligible for the title of album of
the year? Well, it is 108 albums in total - for people who have not been
with us when it comes to voting time, the criteria for be eligible for this
list is simple:
The mark for the album has to be at least 8 out of ten
(unless there is less than 40 albums in a year that make the mark, then the 7.5
albums are considered).
The deadline for an album to be considered is by the end of
2nd December, GMT. This marks the day that the blog was first created.
If an album from the last year was reviewed or released just
after the deadline & did not make last year’s list, it will be considered
if it gets above 9 out of ten or the crazy cat symbol.
After that, it is pretty simple. So, how does the
voting work?
You can pick 10 albums from the list below, your favourite
would get 10 points, the next 9, etc.
Only albums from this list will be considered, if it is not
on the list (to quote many a bouncer), it ain't getting in.
You can only vote for an album once; multiple votes will be
removed.
All votes can be sent to iisfoley1@gmail.com
with the title 'ATT voting 2016'.
The deadline for votes to be considered is Sunday 18th December
and the winner will be announced on Monday 19th December. This will also
be announced on the radio show Attention Please on NE1FM 102.5 in the North
East of England, which is also available online.
So, pick your ten albums, email us at iisfoley1@gmail.com and we will announce
the winner on 19th December. Good luck to everyone!
